Getting Started

Create your WorkUp workspace

From KYC approval to your first automation rule, here's the WorkUp setup journey end-to-end.

Step 1

Create your login and complete KYC

Create your login and provide the business information required to set up your WorkUp workspace, including your ABN, business structure, director details and contact information.

Your application then undergoes identity and business verification (KYC). Most applications are reviewed within 1–5 business days, and we'll notify you by email as soon as your account is approved.

WorkUp starts from $195/month and scales with transaction volume, so pricing grows alongside your business.

Step 2

Connect Xero

Getting started takes just a few minutes.

Connect your Xero organisation to enable estimated obligation visibility across GST, PAYG and super. Once connected, WorkUp automatically updates as transactions are reconciled in Xero, helping keep your obligations visible.

Step 3

WorkUp calculates tax and super as transactions reconcile

Once Xero is connected, the WorkUp's Obligation Protection calculates estimated GST, PAYG and super obligations using your Xero balance sheet.

As transactions are reconciled in Xero, obligation positions are automatically refreshed. The more current your Xero reconciliation, the more current your obligation visibility.

Xero remains the source of truth. WorkUp does not modify your accounting records - it uses Xero data to provide estimated obligation visibility and support cashflow decisions.

These figures are estimates only and are designed to support operational visibility. Your accountant or advisor remains responsible for reviewing, preparing and lodging tax obligations.

Step 4

Set up automation rules for your obligations

Create automation rules to move money into Business accounts for each obligation - taxes (PAYG and GST) and employee superannuation.

Automation rules run on a nightly schedule (midnight) and top up Business accounts based on the obligations WorkUp has calculated during the day.

Important: Automation Rules only transfer funds when calculated obligations increase. If estimated obligations decrease, WorkUp will not automatically transfer funds out of Business Accounts.

Step 5

Invite your team and issue cards with budgets

Invite team members from the Cards section of the WorkUp platform.

Issue virtual cards linked to your Everyday Account, with card controls set up from day one to help manage business spending.

Step 6

Make payments from WorkUp

WorkUp supports everyday business payments, payroll, tax and super payments from a single platform.

Make payments using standard Australian BSB and Account Number transfers. Payroll can be processed using ABA batch files generated from Xero, while tax obligations can be paid directly from your Tax Account.

Businesses using payday super can connect their dedicated Super Account to Xero, allowing super contributions to be paid from funds already set aside through WorkUp.

Your first week

Your first week with WorkUp

The first week is where you'll start seeing the full picture.

Review your obligation visibility, fine-tune your Automation Rules and adjust budgets to suit how your business operates.

As Xero reconciles, the WorkUp's Obligation Protection continuously updates estimated GST, PAYG and super obligations - helping you understand what's available, what's committed and where your cashflow is heading.

Security & access

Keeping your account secure

WorkUp uses secure infrastructure, user permissions and two-factor authentication (2FA) to help protect your business.

Two-factor authentication is required for all outgoing payments and transfers, providing an additional layer of security before funds leave your account.

We recommend regularly reviewing user access and permissions to ensure only authorised team members can access sensitive functions.
